Farewell, Sweet Tata

Ellen Jane Jordan McDonald
April 3, 1921 - October 8, 2009

She was a light in all of our lives. My tears are because I know how much I'm going to miss her, but I'm rejoicing that she's entered the presence of the King this evening. My sister let me know earlier in the day that the time was close, and so I headed over to my parents' right after school. I left shortly after five o'clock and she was gone before six o'clock. I kissed her forehead before I left her, knowing that it would be the last time I saw her alive, and wished her Godspeed.

How is it that a heart can be heavy and light at the same time?

Joannah-My heart is heavy with the loss of another one of our family but my solace comes from the fact that she knew the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and we know where she is going! I praise God that she didn't linger and suffer- I know how you all are feeling- I miss my Dad everyday. Our prayers are with all of you that God will bless you and hold you up in the days to come-I love you all very much-Marla and family

Oh Joannah I'm so sorry! What a beautiful lady she was with such a strong name of character!

I can understand the mixed feelings, one of my dearest friends died in July leaving 3 children. I know he is with the Lord and am happy about that, but sad for those children left behind.

How is that a heart can be heavy and light at the same time? It's a bitter-sweet experience, my sister!

May you find comfort in Psalm 56:8.

I'm hugging you and sitting Shiva,

Tamara
