It Has Been a Very Good Day

Something I said, and probably many prayers said on our behalf, made a difference for my husband today. He has done everything he should do today, and I am so proud of him! We had a wonderful visit from his mom, his sister, and his niece earlier. They brought us lots of good things to eat from Bristol Farms, and we had a delicious lunch with them at our little kitchen table.

My SIL, Cathie, is quite a dog lover, and today was the first time she has met Buffy. Buffy was very unsure of her Auntie Cathie at first, but after Cathie gave her some treats, Buffy thought she was a-okay. Cathie has endeared herself to Buffy. We'll have to remember that trick when we have other visitors, as Buffy has a hard time warming up to strangers.

Late this afternoon we had our appointment with Dr. M. He has really changed his tune with us since we last saw him, and he was happy to refer us back to UCLA for a consultation with Dr. K and the HDIL-2 treatment to follow. His office manager put the expedited request for approval in this afternoon, and she expects that it will be ready as soon as tomorrow. The office manager had also told Michael that there are medicines to help improve appetite. So, Dr. M wrote Michael a prescription for that, and he'll start it tomorrow. I sure hope it makes a difference for him.

So, it's very possible that we will get to see Dr. K as soon as next Monday (if we can get an appointment), and make arrangements for the HDIL-2 treatment shortly thereafter.

Thank you for all your supportive comments after last night's post. Each one lifted my spirits up more and more.
