This is what $4,000 worth of IVF meds looks like! The pharmacy overnighted them to us, and they arrived just about a half an hour ago. I wanted to document this because it's an overwhelming amount of medication and supplies. I totalled up the meds with all the other expenses we expect to have for this cycle, and we're already at more than $14k. It's just mind boggling to me.

Thank you all so much for your support and encouragement. For those of you praying for us, I have some very specific prayer requests this morning. Please pray:

that our loan application would be approved and funded quickly.
that my body will respond well to the medication.
that we will have peace of mind and confidence as we travel this unfamiliar path.
that we will achieve a healthy preganancy.

My mom asked me last night if I am excited about all of this. That was hard to answer, because I have a wide range of feelings about this experience. I am not naive. I know that IVF may not work for us. But I'm not pesimmistic either. It could work. It could be an amazing and life changing experience for us. So, for now, I'm just trying to live in the moment and deal with each day's challenges as they arise.

Ahhhh, the memories. Man, I remember being SO overwhelmed by all of the meds and by the size of the needles. The thing is, once you begin, it will all come together and you will be giving yourself shots like clockwork.
Many, many good thoughts are coming your way.

Honestly, I know I have said this before but I think you are amazing. Your outlook, never, ever, seizes to amaze me. You deserve this. You really, really, really, do. And, I admire you so very much!

I always get a little excited when I receive the mega-box of drugs. :)

I'm glad you gave us a list...I love to pray specifically.

Are you going to take your box of drugs into the doc's office and have them mark everything with the dates you take it? I do that, just to save on any confusion, later on.

I remember being totally overwhelmed. The worst was when I had a TOTAL panic attack when I had to give myself one of the shots in my hip---I thought I could never do it but I iced it like crazy and then it wasn't so bad and I ended up preferring giving it to myself. Get one of those bean bag things you get at Bed, Bath & Beyond that you heat up, I think they may be for your neck to relieve pain but that helps afterwards.
