This has been such a challenging year for us, but I know that my blessings far outweigh my curses. I can only attribute my sense of peace and hope in all this to the promise I have in Jesus Christ. As I've been reflecting on that, the lyrics from an old Bill Gaither song came to mind:

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,

Because He lives, all fear is gone;

Because I know He holds the future,

And life is worth the living,

Just because He lives!

The Gaithers were one of the first concerts I saw as a child with my family at the Anaheim Convention Center - along with Sandi Patti and Carmen. Too funny! Anyway, it's amazing how the lyrics of a song can be buried in my memory and my heart from the time I was just a kid, and then resurface so many years later to be a source of comfort and strength.

I am very thankful to be sharing my life with Michael. It's not the life we expected to be living, but it's a good life nonetheless.
