I'm weary:

Of workplace politics.

Of gossip.

Of character assassination.

Of assuming the worst of people.

Of working with so many women who let their emotions, instead of their reason, rule them.

Of unprofessionalism towards colleagues.

Of selfishness.

Of spite.

Yes, it was a crappy week.

I'm really working on forgiveness, but it's hard because I feel I've been betrayed. I feel that a simple, honest request of mine was turned into something ugly. That something I tried to accomplish with gentleness was seen as mean-spirited. My feelings are hurt big time.

Summer vacation cannot come soon enough.

P.S. I would so appreciate your prayers for me in this matter. While my human nature would like to let my adversaries have it, I know that what I really need to be is an instrument of peace and healing.

Joannah, as a fellow teacher, I can say this: It's tough to be in a job with mostly women. Not to say that men aren't like this, but generally, we can be catty, spiteful, jealous, and prone to gossip. I avoided the teacher lounge and workroom for these reasons. It's unfortunate, but not every school is like that. Remember that you can't change anyone else, only yourself. Be faithful in your prayers... God is good, all the time.
(Oh, and make a "Summer Countdown" chain, and gleefully rip off each link as you get closer to the finish line!) :-)

Oh, that is so awful! Anyone who truly knows you knows that you can't be mean-spirited. It isn't in you.
I will say this...because I get free tuition for my boys at my Christian school as a teacher (when I was teaching), my salary was more than what it would've been if I was teaching public and paying tuition. Just something to think about when your children are school-aged! It is amazing what prayer and devotions will do to bring teachers closer together. It is not perfect, but there is no gossip either. Summer will be here before you know it!!

I'm so sorry. I've had similar feelings in situations, & it is just awful.

I hope this resolves for you soon. God's blessings on your weekend.

Ouch. I'm sorry that happened to you. Hopefully, things will smooth out and you'll feel better soon. It's so hard to get up and go to work every day when you have something unpleasant like that waiting for you.

Big hugs!
