What Happens After a Three-Day Transfer?

I found this on an IVF message board. DPT stands for day or days post transfer.

1dpt - embryo is growing and developing
2dpt - embryo is now a blastocyst
3dpt - blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
4dpt - blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
5dpt - implantation begins, as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
6dpt - implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
7dpt - morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells & fetal cells
8dpt - placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt - more HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt - more HCG is produced as fetus develops
11dpt - HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT

Fascinating, huh?

Thank you all for your comments! I am so happy to share this journey with each of you. Your prayers and your friendship mean so much to me. May God bless each of you for blessing me as you have!

This is so neat! I'll be coming back to it every day to see what mine are doing. :)

Hugs, you. So glad that this has unfolded so beautifully...in spite of the discomfort earlier. Hoping for the very, very best news on the 18th! xo

Something for you to read while on bedrest (if you haven't found this blog already!)

Not that I think you will have four boys with this pregnancy (!!!), but I love this blog by a
wonderful Christian family ...and quite hilarious. :)

I deleted the above comment...I had written that I thought the blog author had IVF but it was a different treatment. :)

This is all so cool! Thank so much for sharing. You are so brave to open up all the details to people you don't even know personally. I love the DPT stuff...I conceived my kids without fertiliy treatments and never really thought about what was happening in those very early days. Maybe I took it for granted, which I will never do again. Kinda neat to think about now...how those cells divided, implanted and grew! No matter how a baby happens, it sure is a miracle. I am hoping you have one or two (or more...) of your own soon!
