I know exactly (burp) what you mean. I started religiously taking these one week ago.... Parents are from Norway so growing up in the winter time we would get a tablespoon each morning of real cod liver oil...sans pill casing. That was BAD!!!
I've taken fish oils for years before I found out that some companies sell 'burp-free' or 'burpless' fish oil pills. Needless to say, they are the ONLY ones I take now.
Nothing like mid-morning coffee-cereal-fish burps to make you want to vomit.
I have to take fish oil caplets for the kidney disease. My doctor just upped my dosage to 6,000 milligrams per day(that's 6 caplets, 2 in the morning, 2 in ther evening, and 2 at night!)
I found a brand at Costco that smells like vanilla and doesn't cause that problem at all. I* don't know the name but as soon as I get home I will look at the bottle and let you know.
Before I found these I was having the same problem and there is no way I would have been able to take that dosage if I was still taking the other ones.
Make sure you don't take your pills after you've had coffee or oatmeal. Heat is VERY bad for fishoil and will make it rancid which in turn will cause you to burp it up. Sometimes our bodies are deficient of the essential oils so our bodies will try to rid itself by making you burp it up. If it doesn't stop...check to make sure your brand is manufactured properly using only molecularly distilled fish and fish that are LOW on the food chain, ie: sardines, anchovies. Many companies do not adhere to proper standards. If a bottle smells like bad fish...its BAD already and will only make you sick.
Here's a link for the company I used to work for....great company!! Expensive but well worth the it, the quality of their product is outstanding. www.nordicnaturals.com
Okay I need to stop or I could go on and on. Man I miss my old job!!!
We all know life can change in an instant, and mine has. I was enjoying my life as a newlywed, savoring every day with my wonderful husband, and trying to overcome infertility when we learned in May of 2009 that he has kidney cancer. Now, our focus is on his health. Through our struggles with infertility my faith in Christ grew, and now I can face this new challenge knowing that we are in His hands.

Guess I should've said... The burp-free fish oils are exactly that - no more burps. A beautiful thing.

Blech is right!
I tried the liquid once and promptly puked. I totally know about the fish flavored burps though with the tabs. Ugh.

We use the Enteric Coated double strength Costco ones - unless a capsule breaks they are usually burpless!
That's what my friend, Molly told me when she took them! Ugh...I'm sorry.
Sounds yucky!
I kept mine in the fridge...the doc told me that if you keep them cold the aftertaste isn't so terrible. It worked for me :).
that does not sound pleasant at all!
