New Acupuncture Doctor

This morning I had my first appointment with my new acupuncture practitioner. She's affiliated with our fertility clinic, and she has office space within their offices. She's very warm and friendly, and she says the type of acupuncture she's doing with fertility patients like me is sort of like a short cut. What other practitioners would try to accomplish in 6-8 months, she's trying to accomplish in a few weeks. Michael and I noticed that she used more needles and put them in different places than my other doctor had. She also came back in the room and touched the needles once or twice while I was on the table. She wanted to make sure that they felt "heavy" to me, and they did.

She didn't prescribe any herbs or tea. I'm fine with that because the herbs I took last summer while I was doing acupuncture made my stomach upset.

I will see her once a week for now - good thing because she's twice as expensive as the other doctor was! On the day of my transfer, I will have a session with her both beforehand and afterward. Sounds good to me!

While we were at the fertility clinic, we let one of the nurses know that we'd decided to postpone our IVF cycle until mid-February. She said that was no problem. So, we'll just give them a call in a few weeks and take it from there.

This is the 2nd post that I've read on acupunture. It's making me a little less anxious about starting my sessions. :)

Affiliated with your clinic, huh. I can't see my clinic doing that. I think anything that can increase relaxation and a feeling of preparedness has to have some rewarding benefits.

Looking forward to hearing about the success of your procedure.

I have always wanted to try that. So glad you doctor is thinking along these lines. Praying for you. Sorry I have not been around, the computer has been 247 used for job search lately. Ugh.

Glad your acupuncture went well -- I'm hoping it makes a difference this time in our cycle. Very neat that she's affiliated with your clinic!

Hi Joannah! Thanks so much for your comment on my blog. I would love to follow your story. I hope your accupuncture continues to go so well.

To strike through a word... the comment section won't let me do it for some reason so here is where I got the info http://www.mymommybiz.com/webdesign/linethroughtext.html It is just a little html code you can put in.
