Cycle Day 2

Finally got enough of that horrible progesterone out of my system. Good riddance! I am not looking forward to taking that for a longer period of time if I do get pregnant, but of course I will.

Now I'm waiting for a call back from the doctor's office to schedule tomorrow's ultrasound. After that we will know if this cycle is a go or not. I wouldn't mind taking a month off (did I just say that?), but that would mean that Michael's biopsy would need to be postponed so that we could do another IUI in December. We're just playing it by ear for now. And, before we can proceed with another IUI, we both need to have a blood test to make sure neither of us has any infectious diseases. I guess it's a state requirement - I do live in Kalifornia after all. Big brother and all that... Just another intrusive aspect to infertility. Fertile couples aren't required to prove they're disease free before they procreate! Grr...

My sister shared some good news with me yesterday that I found to be encouraging. A couple we used to know years and years ago at the church we attended is finally pregnant after many years of infertility and failed adoption attempts. The wife is 46 years old! Wow! What a miracle.

We need a miracle, too.

UPDATE: Waiting for the RE's office to call has taken up too much of my time and energy this week. I'm still waiting for their callback today. Don't even feel like I can jump in the shower until they return my call. Sheesh!

Oh, the waiting. That was truly the hardest part for me.

Praying for a miracle for you two!

Did you hear back from the doc?

We had to prove the no diseases thing as well...it's a fertility clinic thing. Ah, to be a fertile. :)

I love hearing stories like that...that's why I love the story of Sara in the Bible. She was 90 years old! Lord, can you imagine??? LOL

Ugh...it's all so intrusive. That aspect of it is a killer.
Did you sister also tell you that the women likely did not use her own eggs? At 46, it is HIGHLY unlikely that this woman is pregnant without intervention.

Man! And I thought adoption homestudys were intrusive! Argh.

I went through many of the same feelings with adoption (I know you are aware of the paperwork and intrusion) and still get frustrated that we must PROVE our ability to parent, but it only applies to us. Parents whose children have to be forcibly removed for their own safety never had to prove their ability before they got pregnant.

Ok, off my soapbox now.

We will be praying for you. I know it hurts.
