Wordy Wednesday

Despite a low-grade fever this morning (most likely due to my UTI), I went into work. It was a minimum day for the students. So by 12:30 they were long gone, and I was able to work in my classroom in peace and quiet as I tried to catch up after missing three days of school. I was happy to learn that my students had been great for their substitute teachers, and that they had been able to complete most of the things in my plans. By two o'clock I was really sore and tired, so I headed for home and put my feet up.

Yesterday afternoon I was thinking that I might need another day at home. By mid-afternoon I'd developed severe heartburn that lasted for about three hours. I was miserable! I called the nurse I'd spoken to the day before about my UTI, and she recommended a couple of over-the-counter medications. She also suggested that the heartburn may be a reaction to the antibiotic I'm taking. So, I'm now armed with Prilosec and Tums in case it comes back.

Sheesh! I feel like an old lady talking about my health all the time. Got to get some new material...

So glad to hear that your kids were good while you were away. People underestimate how stressful it is for teachers to take time off like this. Not only do you have to plan every single minute of your time away, but cleaning up the mess of an absence can be just as exhausting as if you had never taken the time in the first place.
You can talk about your health all you like. Hope the heartburn stays away.

I hope you start to feel better soon. I admit that I don't really know too much about the prodedure that you had, but are you sure that it is a UTI you have? I would just be concerned that it was another type of infection. I have had UTIs and they are very uncomfortable and the antibiotics do typically kick your butt. Praying for you to be feeling better soon!!!!

So sorry you're feeling awful! UTI's are the worst, I've only suffered 2 in my life and wow, not at all comfortable. Heartburn I deal with often, Prilo.sec is a saver! Feel better soon!

Ok, Joannah, are we secret sisters or something? First, we see the same movies and then I go and get a UTI as well...and I am getting bad heartburn also (is it the Cipro?). Hope you're doing better and that brighter days are ahead :)

Heartburn and a UTI?

It's as though your body is giving you a preview of what it plans through to do when you are pregnant!

Feel better, Joannah.

Goodness, hope you are feeling better!!!! Just got caught up on your blog! I had that movie in my hand the other day and then thought,,,hmmmm,Helen Hunt? I don't think so. She is always the same kidney stone passing character in each film! And would you believe that I then went and picked up Ms. Pettigrew? Loved it!

You know what they say about great minds...
