I've spend the last two days prepping my classroom for next Wednesday's opening day. There is still quite a bit to do, but I'm finding that things come together a lot faster when one's prepping for 20 students instead of 32+. Imagine that! I plan to do some more shopping at the teacher supply store tomorrow, and then spend a few hours in the classroom getting everything really organized on Sunday afternoon. That way, come Tuesday, I can plan the week's lessons and leave campus before the class lists are posted. I don't want to be there for that!Unfortunately, I was a disappointed and concerned when I saw my class list this morning. That's all I'm going to say. I hope that my concerns will be for naught, and that this will be a wonderful year for all of my students and me. Yep, gonna try to keep on the sunny side.

Oh no! I hope you don't have any, er, um, "difficult" families on that list! Could you take it to the principal and maybe get things changed? You don't need a repeat of last year!
I decorated my portable today as well. Lots of high school teachers d not decorate their classes, but the primary teacher in me could never teach from a bare class.
I have 75 students this semester...how will I ever remember all of their names???
I have one class that is going to be a challenge. I'll keep you in my thoughts if you keep me in yours.
Oh, you are making me thankful not to have a class list. I hate that feeling of concern when you know things about who is coming in. As for me my morning list is just 5 preschoolers, it's my afternoon parent and me class of l year olds that I am wondering about. I never taught a Gymboree type thing before.
Hope your back to school is a smooth transition. Welcome to the world of class size reduction, it's a beautiful thing. Twenty is plenty.
Oh good luck Joannah! Enjoy the smaller group and shorter day (at least shorter with kids). Way to stay positive about that class list. Sometimes the children (and parents) I dreaded the most ended up becoming some of my all-time favorites. Hope you have a great year. You're part of a fantastic team of teachers in that grade!

You're making me miss teaching! I always loved this time of year getting ready for school!
I hope your class isn't made up of 18 boys and 2 girls like mine was one year! It certainly changed my curriculum and made life very interesting! (and tiring!)
