I don't know why I was so calm at the time, but I remember saying to her, "Don't worry. God is in control. We'll be okay." She probably thought I was nuts.
The earthquake lasted no more than 15 or 20 seconds, but it seems like forever when it's happening. Afterwards, I had to sit down for a minute or two because I was shaking! Even after 40 years, I'm still surprised when the earth moves. It's just not something you get used to.

So happy to know you are safe and sound. Yes, 15 - 20 seconds can feel like an eternity when you are scared. You did a good thing by calming that woman down.
You're so thoughtful, holding someone who is obviously scared! I've never experienced the earth moving! I'm sure it isn't a pleasant experience!
It's about the only thing I never missed when we left CA to come back to the east coast. No matter how many I felt, every one scared me to death. I still, here, will never stop my car under an underpass if I'm at a light. My friends think I'm nuts!!
I'm glad it wasn't the big one and that you are okay!
Glad everything is ok and it wasn't too big of an earthquake. I know, i've lived here in CA for a long time and earthquakes are scary!
I live in the middle of big tornado country...and earthquakes scare the crap out of me. Glad you are okay!
Joannah,
I have lurked here quite a bit. I am following your pregnancy journey with baited breath...I so remember those days of waiting and hoping. I so pray this is your month. I am sorry you had the earthquake today...that sounds scary!
Take care of yourself...and those little swimmers too! I am waiting to see some good news in a few weeks!!

Glad you are ok! Can't understand how scary it would be to be someplace where the earth moved for that long!
So glad you guys are all okay! I've only experienced one earthquake (in Bangladesh) and that's enough for me!
I'm hoping that SoCal shake was good for the "swimmers"! Glad you're ok. xo
Hey beautiful
Counting down those days with you...
Yes wasn't that a shake up!
Take care...
Tori
How are you lady?
I am so glad to hear that you are safe and sound after the earthquake.
And I am very touched by your Chinese Dream post.
I wasn't able to leave a comment on the Narnia movie post.
Glad you liked it. I loved the first one, I'll put this on my Netflix queue.
It was a big one, wasn't it?! Yeesh. Glad you're ok!
Rod was down in LA on the top floor of a 13-story office building and got ahold of me right away to say everything was alright.
