Healing Hand of God - A Devotional

Encouragement from someone who's been there.

I thought the translation Jeremy used was somewhat confusing, but then I looked it up in my Bible and found it was the very same translation. However, my Bible has a commentary section which makes the passage a bit easier to comprehend.

Here is the commentary:

Many think that when God consoles us, our hardships should go away. But if that were always so, people would turn to God only to be relieved of pain and not out of love for him. We must understand that being consoled can also mean receiving strength, encouragement, and hope to deal with our hardships. The more we suffer, the more comfort God gives us. If you are feeling overwhelmed, allow God to comfort you. Remember that every trial you endure will help you comfort other people suffering similar hardships.

Pastor Bayless talked more about God's goodness last night. In fact, he gave eleven reasons why God is good. I should have taken notes! I noticed his broadcast this morning is from a service I didn't attend, and it seems to be all about healing. Since I record his broadcast on Sunday mornings, I will try to get Michael to watch it with me soon. He was unable to go to church with me last night because he was working, but we're planning on next week. That will be the last Sunday Pastor Bayless will be speaking as he is taking a sabbatical this summer. I really want Michael to hear him preach next week. Please pray that nothing will prevent us from being there.

Honey, that was a wonderful testimony of God's Power and Encouragement. May HE uphold you and Michael in the coming days.

More Love than you will ever know is sent your way each minute of every day.

Always... Mom

Sending Love to you Joannah,
to you and to Michael-- hoping that all will be well.
I think your decision about FET makes sense--heart and mind sense-- and I wish you two all the best in the coming weeks, hoping for simple solutions, as I always do. Keeping you in my thoughts, Kate
