Collaborating

I'm listening to my husband play along with Alison Kraus singing Forget About It. I've always loved country and bluegrass, but he usually turns his nose up at such things. Maybe he's coming around. There's more to music than jazz!

He's been collaborating with a friend of his on some music. He says he wants to do a CD of his own. I've done that before myself. So, I've been giving him some advice based on my songwriting experiences. He's been really open to what I've had to say. Back in the day I belonged to a songwriters' group and I attended songwriting seminars. I showed him some of the notes I had taken at one of those seminars. Then I offered to share some of my unfinished lyrics with him, and told him he could produce a couple of things I had finished a long time ago but never recorded. So, we may work on that together, too.

It's fun having a musician in the house!

Um, hello. I am freaking out! I LOVE ALLISON!!! So does my son! Really freaking out. I love to sing - do you sing? Love, love to sing bluegrass too! How ironic. We'll have to meet someday.

The husband/wife collaborating sounds really great too.
