My New Wheels

I got a new bike today! Isn't it pretty? We've been talking about getting me a bike for a while now. I suggested to Michael that we find a used one on Craigslist, and that it would make a great Christmas gift. Wink, wink. So, we've been looking at the postings for several weeks now, but this was just posted on Christmas day. The previous owners had just purchased it last May, and then decided to upgrade to a different kind of bicycle. So, it hasn't been used much at all. I think we got a great deal on it. Now we just need to tune up Michael's bike and hit the road together.

I haven't had a new bicycle since I was ten years old! I'm so excited!

I've noticed some rapid and significant weight gain since we started the injectibles this fall. It's frustrating. So, I'm glad that now Michael and I can go to the gym together, and that we'll be able to take bike rides together in the near future. I think that if I can increase my activity level I can shed some of these pounds. Just another thing to contend with due to IF, thank you very much.

In other news...

We did the official beta test today, and it just confirmed what we already knew. The doctor wants Michael to freeze some swimmers before his biopsy next month. So, at least we'll have something in reserve if need be.

I so appreciate your words of encouragement and the prayers you've prayed on our behalf. We're just taking it one day at a time, and I'm trusting that God will lead us where we need to be. My husband doesn't share my faith, but he has noticed a change in how I handle the disappointments now compared to earlier this year. I tell him it's because of my faith, and that IF has strengthened that faith. It's good to know that even through a difficult season in life that faith can grow, and that it's noticeable to an unbeliever like Michael. Therefore, I feel like it's serving a greater purpose. Even so, I hope that 2009 will be the year we overcome IF.
