Where Did That Week Go?

Last week just flew by! Last Saturday, I was lounging with my sister at Glen Ivy Hot Springs in near 100 degree heat. We had a great time in spite of the heat. This was a trip that was planned last fall for my bachelorette day, but we had to cancel due to the fire storm. Then we rescheduled our day for May or June, but we were having a horrendous heat wave and we decided to postpone again. Last Saturday, we were going no matter what. I hardly ever get one-on-one time with my sister, so I think that was the best part. We just talked and talked all day.

Last night, Michael and I tried the new Italian restaurant in our neighborhood. We'd heard from some friends of ours that it was good, and they were right. We had the calamari and a caesar salad to start, and pasta dishes for our main course. I've got leftovers for tonight - yum! We love patronizing mom-and-pop restaurants in our area, but we're not always too impressed with our experience. We'd tried a new sushi restaurant earlier in the week, and even though the service was outstanding, we didn't care for the food. So, we won't be going back. Oh, well...

Anyway, back to the Italian place, it's owned by an Italian family and the mama asked me if I am Italian. I said yes, but just a quarter. I think it's funny that people almost always ask me if I'm Italian. Just a little bit of those genes goes a long way, I guess. She asked me if I speak the language, and I had to tell her no. She said that was too bad because when it gets late in the evening she gets tired of thinking in English and she likes to speak Italian instead. I wish I could have helped her out with that! LOL!

Today Michael jetted off for a quick work-related trip to Mexico, but he'll be back on Monday. I spent the afternoon with my mom and my niece Rebecca at a craft fair and the gem show. The skies have been cloudy all day, and I've dodged a few sprinkles throughout the day. It's been a nice change from last week's heat, but it sounds like we're going to get back to our normal weather pattern next week. I have enjoyed the taste of fall today.

Speaking of the taste of fall... I can't get enough of those Pumpkin Spice Lattes at Starbucks. I'm hooked! I think I had one every day this last week, but I always order them with non-fat milk, decaffeinated, and no whipped cream. They can't be too bad like that, or can they?

Ooooh the calamari sounds good. Hope it was fried!
I don't think the latte would be too bad the way that you orde it.
We've got rain today on and off.

I've been loving the Pumpkin Spice lattes, too! (My wallet doesn't like them, but oh well.) Glad to hear you had fun with your sister and that you had a nice dinner out with your husband. I am 3/4 Italian and look it, but my girls don't look a lick Italian. I really thought they would...you never know. Hope you get some more fall winter soon!

I love time with my sis as well...nothing like it.

I still haven't tried the pumpkin spice latte...I'll have to get one this week, since I'm having to get up early. Ugh. :)

Have another great week, girl!
