Uh, oh...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but my temperature has dropped this morning. That's not a good sign. In the four months I've been temping, once my temperature drops towards the end of my cycle then I start spotting, and a couple days later my period starts. So, this could be the beginning of all that. I may not even make it to the appointment for my beta test on Friday. I did take a HPT yesterday in the afternoon, and it wasn't positive. So between my temperature dropping and that, I'm just about ready to stock up on "feminine supplies". LOL

I've got a plan for if/when my period does start. I'm going to use the generous gift card my class gave me to my favorite day spa and be pampered, and then I'm going to have my brother-in-law make me a martini. I haven't been drinking alcohol this summer, so I'll enjoy a drink before I have to start another medicated cycle.

Last night was another night of poor sleep. I was waking up every couple of hours, and the weird dreams continued. I'm having lots of dreams about school. Most of them are about the first day of school and how everything is wrong - the classroom isn't ready, there are too many students, the parents are rude, etc... Sounds just like last year, actually!

Anyway, I'm fine right now. My husband was right the other day when he told me we'd done all we could, and if we weren't successful we wouldn't give up.

Update: Mentioned my temperature to Dr. Kevin, my acupuncturist. He said it could just be a fluke and didn't seem too concerned about it. So, I feel a little more hopeful this afternoon than I did this morning. We'll just have to wait and see.

I've been a reader of your blog for quite some time and admire you for baring your heart and soul and your most intimate details of your life on this blog. I simply can not do it myself. Your life have many similarities with mine and I know that, one day very soon, you will have an adorable little girl to tuck in at night as I do every night. They might come and go but the memories and love will stay forever. Sending lots of hope and prayers to you.

It's not over till it's over and I won't believe it until Red shows up.

I had my first "school dream" on August 1. I dreamed that my class was totally out of control and I could not do a thing about it. Sigh...

I'm sorry to hear your temp has dropped. :(

I'm glad you are okay, though...enjoy your day at the spa. You deserve it. :)

And your hubby is right...never give up.

So sorry to hear it...I think that a spa day and a martini will be just what you need. The egg that will be your baby is in there...it just needs to make it to the front of the line :)

I think the day spa idea is fantastic! Hopefully you'll get a nice surprise friday and won't be able to drink that martini after all!

Joannah,

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you...it's not over this month until your period starts!

I SO remember the monthly ups and downs of trying to concieve from years ago before we even had a thought about adoption. My heart goes out to you.

If all else fails this month, have that martini and enjoy it before your next cycle!

Donna :)

LOL...no matter how many years of teaching we all have...we still have those teaching nightmares!

Either way...do the spa day! Just not the martini.
And as for Lilly and tucking in her little girl, well, maybe you will tuck in a little boy!

Not that one is better than the other, of course! I'm just sayin. ;)
