Day 25

Seventy-two hours to go until my pregnancy test! My temperature is still up as of this morning, no spotting, sore boobies (that is the technical term, you know...), and I've been sleeping terribly. I've never heard of that last one being an early sign of pregnancy, but it's a new one for me - I usually have no trouble sleeping. The last few days I've been waking up several times each night, and I'm having the most vibrant, strange, and sometimes disturbing dreams. I'm longing for a good night's sleep. As for the sore boobies, I don't know if I can really trust that since I'm on progesterone, and I usually have that feeling leading up to my period anyway.

Anyone else remember having poor sleep and weird dreams when you were in early pregnancy?

Praying for you!

Weird dreams in pregnancy...totally, with both pregnancies. I can't remember if they started early on, but I most definitely had them. My earliest signs were sore boobs, feeling breathless when walking up even a small hill, and an incredible urge for ice cream. I have to say that the fatigue at things that normally don't fatigue me was the #1 early sign for me. It is what clued me in the most.

With my first pregnancy, I had THE sorest breasts. Like, I had to wear a sports bra to bed, it was so bad. I know, for sure, it was a result of the pregnancy. With my second one, my breasts were not sore AT ALL, so I kind of knew that the pregnancy wouldn't last. Both times, I was on progesterone. With me, there was a definite difference between the sore breasts I got before my period and the sore breasts associated with that first pregnancy.
72 hours to go!!! VERY exciting!

I am praying for you ! And yes; I had weird, very vibrant dreams right away with all three of my kids. And they didn't end until the pregnancy ended!
Oh...I hope you're pregnant!!!

SO HOPE you are pregnant :O) I wonder if your sleeping changes might be the anxiousness of only 72 hours until you know? Can't speak to the dreams, I've never been pregnant physically! But I'm having some wild ones waiting...

Hi Joannah! I haven't read your blog in a long time, and I was so excited when I caught up! I am thinking good thoughts for you! With both of my pregnancies early on, I had extremely vivid dreams. I think I could come up with some pretty good movie screenplays based on some of those dreams! I also had a lot of fatigue, but like you are describing, it was hard to sleep even though I was so tired. Can't wait to hear more. You are in my prayers every day!

Any temptation to take a home pregnancy test?

By the time you miss your period, your HCG levels are usually over 100. Home pregnancy tests can pick up levels as low as 25 (and some even lower if you let the test sit on the counter for a few hours then hold it up to a bright light). I peed on every brand at least twice. My favorite was the Safeway brand test (cheapest too). It picked up my three pregnancies days before other tests. First Response was the worst.

As you probably know, pregnancies don't start producing HCG until they implant and most implant between day 5 and 8 (post ovulation). You might have very brief spotting around this time -- or not. I never did but many other women do.

However, a really early sign for me was vivid dreams. Especially of a sexual nature! I never have sexy dreams except when I'm pregnant and I always orgasm in those dreams (and that wakes me up). Then I'm freaked out because some say you shouldn't have an O while you're in very early pregnancy.

I think the sexual dreams are due to the increased blood flow to the uterus and other sexual organs during pregnancy. If your dreams are sexual, it very well could be a sign of pregnancy!

My fingers are crossed for you!
